My name is Dora Mendes and I'm the chef / owner of While You're Out Personal Chef Service. In 2000, I left my longtime career as a Dental Assistant / Office Administrator to pursue my dream of becoming a Chef.

      I graduated from Cambridge School of Culinary Arts Professional Program in 2001, receiving an outstanding achievement award by the State of Massachusetts. I then worked at a fine dining restaurant in Arlington, Ma, working from pastry assistant to daytime Sous Chef. Due to family planning I left the culinary field for a few years.

      In April, 2005 I became a member of the United States Personal Chef Association (USPCA) and passed the required training for the Culinary Business Academy to become a Personal Chef. I am also certified in food safety (servsafe).
